I never meant for this to happen.

But the problem doesn’t falter, it bubbles and resurfaces,

Like a can of soda, caught in the moment before the explosion,

A failure at the basic necessities of life.

I never meant for this to happen.

Second chance comes and goes,

A leadership role taken and destroyed,

People left shattered in my wake.

I never meant for this to happen.

Redemption again comes my way,

A sacrifice made by my own hand cannot end in anyone else’s suffering, can it?

A boy proven wrong, and a mountain of bodies left for the crows.

I never meant for this to happen.

The world readies its last killing blow,

Spirits and hopes stuck in the trenches on my part,

The one most valuable thing in my life, ripped away by my sacrifices.

I wish none of this had ever happened.

{Just a ‘lil thing, if you’re ever in a writing block, try writing from the perspective of one of your favourite characters. It works quite well! Frankly, I’m not proud of this one, but it definitely could have gone worse. Thanks for reading!}
